Michael's Belay Glasses: http://belayglass.blogspot.com/ Don't crane your neck while belaying. Wear these glasses and look forward to gaze upward saving on neck strain. They allow the belayer to more fully concentrate their attention to the task at hand, especially on long, protracted sessions. They accomplish this at roughly a 1/4 of the cost of the other product on the market, putting this easier into the average climbers budget.

the hike is not actually too bad, but I would definitely allow 80+ minutes on your first burn. Clearly not too many folks are wandering up there and the trail is anything but broken in so getting at least a little lost on your first go should almost be expected. I think once you have it wired, especially with a high clearance vehicle (shaves .6 miles) it could get sub 1 hour no prob.

Hey Anon - The route was originally bolted by Kristian Merwin. As far as I know he is not much into climbing anymore, but yes, over a decade ago he put in the work to equip this rig. I mentioned his name in my previous blog post and in a few interviews, but at the time that we shot this video we were looking for the info but not yet aware.

Dom- thanks for the heads up. I was aware yes, and honestly I could not seem to get the ˆover the e in my post. I tried for a while and then finally a buddy showed me how to do it ê. Damn! it's properly represented in the video and I've changed my blog.

and unfortunately, as I'm sure you've noticed- the media has kinda ran with the spelling 'La Reve', not sure why. Dang.
